Join Lovewell Farms for an after hours farm tour. It's an evening of cannabis agriculture, history, education, and community at Rhode Island’s only USDA-organic hemp farm.
This outdoor summer gathering begins with a guided walking lecture through Rhode Island’s largest outdoor cannabis farm, where guests will learn about hemp farming, regenerative agriculture, specialty crop production, organic aersol extraction, cannabis policy, and the realities of running a small independent farm in Rhode Island.
After the field walk, guests will gather for local beer (21+), light fare, and a seated lecture exploring the history of cannabis cultivation in Rhode Island from colonial hemp and herbal medicine to prohibition, criminalization, and the modern hemp movement.
The evening closes with live acoustic music and networking on the farm.
This is event is funded thanks to funding from USDA grants from the Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) program and Transition to Organic Partnership (TOP) Program, as well as from the Northeast Organic Farmers Association of Rhode Island (NOFA-RI).
